That’s A Salad

Freg ordered a chopped salad for lunch from Ted’s Famous Kickin’ Chicken. Freg’s massive salad ended up being too much food for him, so he had to pack up about half. The salad included chopped chicken, tomatoes, cheese, croutons, bacon, and somewhere under there lettuce.

First Course

Ant, Carolyn, and Freg all received a bit of roughage this evening with their starter salads from Soppers Restaurant.

The Spread

The wonderful dinner Buddy was gracious enough to prepare for us. Everything was very fresh and delicious. Many of the ingredients came from Buddy’s vegetable garden. YUM!

Smaller Portions

Carolyn ordered some lighter fare for lunch from Macado’s. A house salad with ranch dressing and a cup of their chili. The chili was delicious and pretty filling.

Fried Green and Pimento

Freg ordered a chopped Southern salad from the Lexington Avenue Brewery, (LAB) for short. This delicious salad included fried green tomatos, pimento cheese, chopped iceberg lettuce, chopped ham, fresh local red beans and corn. The fried green tomatos and fresh made pimento cheese were heart stopping AMAZING; SO GOOD.

So Fresh

Ant did well this evening and ordered the in season strawberry and arugula salad from Lexington Avenue Brewery. Fresh strawberries, gorgonzola cheese, and almonds in a balsamic strawberry dressing. Fresh, simple, and delicious.

Protein

Carolyn also opted to order the strawberry arugula salad from Lexington Avenue Brewery. She also opted to add gilled chicken for an extra punch of protein. WOOHOO protein!

Crunchin’ Some Leaves

Freg’s chef salad from Buzz’s Roost for lunch, sans tomatos. The salad was nothing special, however, there was a great view from our rooftop table.

Veggie Time

Carolyn ordered the chef salad for lunch from Buzz’s Roost. Some lighter fare for the hotter afternoon on the rooftop.

Tell Tale Heart

Ant’s Tell Tale Heart burger from Poe’s Tavern. This half pound piece of heaven is topped with a fried egg, applewood bacon, and cheddar cheese; sided with potato salad.

Shark Strips

Freg ordered shark strips and potato salad for lunch from Gullah Grub. Gullah Grub served up the local Gullah and lowcountry cuisine.

Fresh

A very fresh side salad with homemade balsamic dressing from Gullah Grub. Lots of crunch before a creamy stew.

A Little Healthy

The side salads that came before our dinners at Seagles Restaurant. Sometimes we like to eat a little healthy; sometimes.

Lighter Fair

Freg ordered the greek salad with chicken from the Mellow Mushroom for dinner. You can’t seem to go wrong with Mellow.

Spinach

Ant made his own salad for dinner from the Mellow Mushroom. He chose to have salad so he could order dessert.

Salad, Steak, Both

Carolyn went the lighter route, sort of, tonight by ordering a salad at Austin’s Cattle Co. Don’t worry there’s steak on it, rare and homemade ranch dressing on the side.

Bookmaker’s Salad

For lunch Carolyn ordered an appetizing salad from Old Town Tavern and Grille. The Bookmaker’s Salad included medallion’s of beef, fresh mozzarella, tomato, vidalia onion, red sweet pepper, greens, fresh basil, and balsamic vinaigrette.

On the Lite Side

Carolyn ordered a spinach salad from the Local Republic with a side of perfectly seasoned black beans and rice (no hot sauce needed). The spinach salad included dried berries, strawberries, toasted walnuts, mild goat cheese, and a bacon vinaigrette dressing. Excellent salad, I highly recommend checking this place out.

Holy Large Salad

This was my Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad from Bahama Breeze. It is not often I fill myself to the rim eating a salad, but in this case I needed a nap after finishing mountain of greens and goodies.

Fresh, Fresh, Salad

Carolyn ordered the House Garden Salad with chicken from Harvest Moon Cafe. The salad included fresh lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrots, dried cranberries, feta, and croutons.

Pears

Ant went of a healthy dinner choice and ordered a Pear Salad from Blacksmith’s Bistro and Bar. The pear salad included mixed greens, toasted pecans, gorgonzola cheese, and of course pears. A tasty and lighter meal for the evening.

West By God

Freg ordered a man’s salad at The Terminal Brewhouse. The salad included grilled steak and french fries over fresh greens, onions, candied pecans, and bleu cheese; though Freg subbed sweet potato fries in for the regular ones (good idea).

Roughage

At the Terminal Brewhouse Carolyn ordered the Salmon Thompson salad for lunch. The salad consisted of spinach, feta, salmon, corn, onion, tomato, and croutons all topped with a cucumber caper dressing; that’s right it says cucumber caper dressing. YUM! Side Note: the salmon was cooked perfectly.

Happy HOURS

After a fun day at the Knoxville Zoo, Freg and Carolyn spend quite some time in Market Square at Oodles Uncorked for Happy Hours. This is the bruschetta ordered and enjoyed for half price out on the patio during great spring weather.

Healthy Eating

Enjoying a Berry Salad at Oodles and Uncorked in Market Square, one of the few healthy meals consumed during the week.

Salmon Caesar Salad

Not everything we eat on this trip is junk; a salmon caesar salad from Crawdaddy’s West Side Grill in Cookeville, TN.

Greek Salad

Delicious greek dinner salad full of crunchy greens and in pepper heaven at the Murfreesboro, TN Mellow Mushroom.

Wedge Salad

A simple but very delicious salad by Paul Jones in his home in Nashville while treating us to an amazing evening.

Rock House Eatery Side Salad
