A History of Rachel

During our stay at the Lord’s home we were given a wonderful gift. A hug box full of old pictures of Rachel, an original Those Guys members. This box was full of wonderful treasures such as the ‘side ponytail’, we love you Rach.

Home Again

The state line sign into North Carolina our home state. Carolyn, Freg, and Ant’s parents all reside within North Carolina.

Stacked

A large stack of railroad ties next to some railroad tracks. The pattern, color, and cracks in the ties are unique to each piece.

We Made IT

Jennie, Freg, and Carolyn at LaConte Lodge in the Great Smoky Mountains. Yes, that is real snow up on the peak in April. LaConte is the 3rd highest peak in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Two become three

Hooray Carolyn has arrived to join us in our misadventures!

With the steam still rising, this mountain of wings was the Wing King Platter that Ant conquered while at Wing King in Fort Mill, SC.

Purple Martins

Hanging out on Lake Murray, watching all the purple martins come to rest at sunset.

Cisco Brewers, Whale’s Tale Pale Ale

The Whale’s Tale Pale Ale is brewed by Cisco out of Massachusetts. Ant and Freg both ordered this brew and described it as being very hoppy, slightly bitter. Side note; they were served this beer warm so not as refreshing as one would hope.

Journal — Day 108

We got QUITE wet today in our travels, enough so that we decided to venture more inland instead of the…

Washed Ashore

Walking about Jekyll Island we discovered lots of welk egg casings washed up on shore. Welks are sea shells common on the East Coast of the US.

Scotch Art

Scott, aka Scotch is gets serious with his beer pong ball art. Here he displays the four pong balls of the evening for our 21 cup event. The great thing about 21 cup pong is eight people can play at once instead of four.

Bell’s Two Hearted Ale

Ant enjoyed this Bell’s Two Hearted Ale draft from The Bee’s Knees Tapas Restaurant. It’s an American IPA, high on the hops taste.

Falling Water

A lower view of Amicalola falls, water gushes through the rocks and greenery. The shade from the trees and the breeze from the falls made the walk very pleasant in the Georgia heat.

Journal — Day 74

On the road again! We spent the morning at the compound getting Jenny ready for the road again (I say…

PEEKABOO!

George and I spent many hours chasing each other (through the glass of the viewing areas of course) while I worked at the zoo. This was one of the many faces I received when he saw my familiar face approaching.

Journal — Day 66

Today was a bit on the slower side, for Carolyn and I anyway. Ant is neck deep in work with…

Trekking Up

Jennie and Carolyn hiking in the overhang of a huge rock wall on the Alum Cave Creek trail, trekking towards the peak of LaConte. The peak is the third highest in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Journal — Day 63

Today’s mission: the Tri-Cities area of Northeast Tennessee. We researched what we could about Kingsport and decided we’d just head…

Silly Goose Table

Our lunch table at the Silly Goose restaurant in Nashville, TN. Two local woodworkers harvest wood from old fallen trees to make furniture. In this case, an awesome table built completely of walnut.

Memphis Zoo

Freg’s fun at the Memphis Zoo

Jenny’s New Feature

Jenny the Jeep is enjoying lots of newly discovered room in her interior as she now has a new luggage rack on her roof!

Florida Thoughts

As we have now spent some time away from Florida, I have had a moment or two to let the excitement settle and reflect on my likes and dislikes on the very culturally different state.

“This Is An Irish Wake!”

While walking into McGuire’s Irish Pub, I couldn’t help but ask about these drinks. “WHAT are you drinking?!” “It’s an Irish Wake! And you get to keep the jar!”

Beautiful Blue

You think my tail feathers are finished..nope, they’re still happening

Jaguar

Ant had on a tan/lkhaki colored shirt- matching the Zoo employees shirt, so many of the animals had serious interest in Ant’s actions, especially this beautiful jaguar

What Is This?

This is a snake (forgot what kind) resting on the limbs on its enclosure. Stop looking for the head, its not in there. Or is it?
